MinDiver commissioned BRGM to conduct a study entitled “Needs Assessment and Evaluation of the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency of Nigeria” in the framework of the Mining development for the country. The contract was signed between the two parties on January 16, 2019.
The purpose of the contract is to conduct a needs assessment and to evaluate the capability of the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA or the Agency) to undertake the tasks outlined in the MinDiver tender and to set up a process for enhancement. As part of the assignment, the BRGM is to review any disparities in personnel or equipment and to recommend manpower, equipment and procedural improvements that align with the intention of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development (MMSD) to enable the NGSA to carry out its obligations effectively, efficiently, and in line with the best international standards.
The purpose of this report is to present a synthesis of the analysis and to provide detailed recommendations.
